Casablanca Also known as the ‘White City’ gets its name from "Casa Branca" given by the Portuguese when it was a little Berber village situated on Anfa Hill. The city now housing almost 5 millions inhabitants, was developed in the early 20th century when the French protectorate representatives decided to build an artificial port and planned the construction of a new city . Casablanca, the cosmopolitan and economic capital of Morocco, is famous for its nightlife with a plethora of excellent restaurants, night clubs, cinemas and spectacles. You must remember this: ‘A kiss is just a kiss.’ They still say "I love you." On that you can rely. No matter what the future brings, as time goes by, moonlight and love songs are never out-of-date. Casblanca is ‘the’ complete, modern city of Morocco's industrial center, bearing little resemblance to its famous movie namesake (no scenes from the famous film were even shot here!). Casablanca is deservedly famous for the Hassan II Mosque, the worlds 5th largest mosque, and one of the very few open to non-Muslims in the country. It is one of Morocco's most extraordinarily magnificent statements to faith. Major cities and capitals from all over the world have direct flights to Casablanca or via Paris, making it an ideal location to host international congressesional meetings and events. Here you will find a mild climate year round; sometimes hot in summer but never cold in winter with occasional rain.
